Had that excat problem.
Problem is the usage of JDK1.1 is not supported (yep) by Netscape, IE or others. Oracle has a JINITIATOR that is in BETA right now that should fix the problem. Looking at SUN you should be able to find the Java plugin and get it to work.

Until then, only the Appletviewer will work. Oracle plans on releasing the JInitiator plugin around August ... but you know, as software goes into beta it still can be relied on a fixed release date.
