Hello Everybody,

I am trying to set up an authentication screen on an Oracle Webserver 2.1. I have no clue on how to set this up, but I will state what I want to do, then hopefully someone can put me on the right track.

When an individual connects to the webserver through a standard viewer, the first screen will prompt them for a user name and password. Then using the individuals profile they will connect to different default web pages.

example: a user with a finance profile will connect to the finance screen, a user with a sales profile will connect to the sales screen after authentication.

Can I use forms 4.5 to deploy the authentication screen? Is there a default table on the database I can use for authentication or will I have to create a new table? Does anyone use a similar setup, or is there a better way to go?

Please any help will be appreciated.

Using Oracle Webserver 2.1 on NT4.0 Server Connecting to Oracle Database 7.3.3 on SCO Unix Currently using static HTML to deploy forms on the OWS.

Thanks,
