Help w/ Restore

Oracle 7.3.4 on Solaris 2.5.1

We had a disk crash. We restored the disk and restarted Oracle but got a message about a media recovery needed for a datafile. Problem is that the backups of the datafile don't sync up with the control files because those reside on a different partition and were backed up at a different time. Plus we didn't have ARCHIVELOG on. So basically we have the datafile with control files that don't match the checkpoints. Any suggestions?
