Locks modes

While investigating a locking problem the following info was retrieved from dba_locks

session_id 	8
lock_type 	DML
mode_held 	Row-X (SX)
mode requested None
lock_id1 	1161
lock_id2 	0
last_convert 	4480

Blocking_others Blocking

Coluld anyone explain why this is flagged as Blocking when mode_requested is None (v$lock.lmode = 0)., or have i mis-interpreted something?
