Hello,

we're just installing a new software which run with Oracle 7.3.4. This means many imports into the database. Normally, this import from local files takes about 7 hours. We had have to wait for 36 hours.

The database runs on a HP Netserver LX Pro 2xPentiumPro 200. Memory 524 MB.

Disk Array Controller:

Line 0: RAID 1 2x4GB Oracle: Redo-Logs duplicated
Line 1: RAID 5 3x4GB Oracle: Index - Files
Line 2: RAID 5 5x4GB Oracle: Datafiles.

Noticeable is, that when tables with "long raw" was to import, this tables took a very long time and the RAID 1 with the Redo-Logs was continuous working.

Does anyone have any idea, whats wrong and where i have to look? Any help is appreciated!

Thank you!
