oracle7 parallel server solaris platform - help

i am trying to set up a parallel server database, and when i try to startup shared i get ora-01148 error message 'database must be mounted exclusive for this operation'. cause an attempt to mount the database parallel without the existence of a lock manager. where is the lock manager? any ideas Received on Mon Apr 06 1998 - 00:00:00 CDT
