Trying to push the sale of software tools in a newsgroup that relates to problems, solutions and experiences about Oracle Server is -not- spam according to you!!? [dumbfounded expression]

Many of the problems posted in here is when the problem of the poster has reached a critical level. Simply answer that poster saying, "ah, we have a tool that you can buy from us that will solve your problem" really does not help. In fact, I will be highly pissed off if someone tries to sell me a tool when I am in the middle of a critical problem and need help. But then that's me...

If you wish to raise the awareness of participants in this newsgroup about Platinum tools - what do you think a poster will appreciate? Someone trying to sell them something, or having Platinum techies share some of their considerable Oracle knowledge to solve a problem? You will be amazed at the response you get when you actually help someone that is in dire straights.

And if Platinum is allowed to push their Oracle related products here, why can't I push my Oracle products here, or for that matter any other company that produces Oracle management software? Afterall, according to you it -is- a service to this newsgroup [yeah right]. Next thing the majority of the postings will be nothing but adds by ISVs...
