'ulimit' is in fact a unix command. Try entering 'ulimit' on the command and
it will return a value, else you can enter 'ulimit' followed by a value and
it will change it. (see 'man ulimit')
I know I've had problems with this, especially when upgrading the Oracle
rdbms. I think it was V7.1 to V7.2 . Anyway, 'root.sh' installed a new
'oraenv' and 'coraenv' with this set to 'unlimited' . My version of unix
(HP-UX 10.2) didn't like it, and so I had to set it to a value. I can't
remember exactly what, but it was quite big. I'll have a look at work
tomorrow and let you know.
