Vincent,
You should NOT backup the redo logs as part of your backup. Restoring logs from a backup could cause corruption of the database. You should do an ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE and backup the archive logs to the most current one. This way you'll have the most recent changes. This way even if you were to lose your online logs the data loss would be very minmal, if any. If logs are mirrored (they should always be), you'll not have to do an open resetlogs in case you lose one set of logs. Hope that answers your question
