9M rows spilt into 48 partitions gives ca. 200,000 rows per
partition.
Several dimension tables with 60,000 rows each (and dimensions row
are often large).
Are there any high speed access paths that will allow Oracle to find
the (I hope) small
number of relevant dimension rows before doing the star
transformation ? Once the
dimensions are located, is the AND of the relevant bitmap pattern
likely to return a
very small number of rows ?
If not, I wouldn't be too surprised to see lots of hash joins. Received on Tue Feb 17 1998 - 00:00:00 CST
