Set nmi.trace_level to something other that 0 in snmp.ora. As with other tracing, the higher the number, the more info you will get. Try setting it to user first. Also, I can't remember where, but temp files are written somewhere under $ORACLE_HOME/network (on Netware at least). If you can find the temp files, they may indicate where the job is hanging.
