ODBC vs SQL Net with 7.3... How big an overhead ????

Dear all,

We are using MFC (C++) on Win95 client with ODBC (intersolv) to access our
Oracle workgroup server (NT). Since we once beleive that we might be using other
RDBMS we have used ODBC... Now we are planning a new release and I was wondering just how big an overhead is caused by the used of ODBC instead of
a SQL net connexion???

Does any one know of benchmarks? Or has anyone done some testing? We are

having some slow response time when we insert thousands of rows (600k and up).
Since using Sql net instead of ODBC is a rather expensive move I am wondering
if it worth it??? Which explains my quest for data ;-)

I'll appreciate any help.

Thanks

Guy Thibault
