I'm trying to set up one-way asynchronous master-slave replication on Oracle 7.3.3.4 with the following requirement: The Master Definition Site changes on a daily basis but cannot grow above a certain threshold. Once that threshold is reached bulk deletes will be performed on certain tables. However, these deletes must not be replicated on the Replicated Site. We are planning to disable replication just prior to the delete and re-enabling replication just after the delete completes. Now, these 2 sites are out of synch. The Replicated Site now has more data than the Master Definition Site. The question is: What will happen when normal activity occurs on the Master Definition Site? What configuration of replication would best serve this scenario? Are there any other techniques I should consider?
Thanks in advance!!!
