Client Disconnected after updating a long datatype column

We are using PB5.002, SQLNet 2.3 and Oracle 7.3, when a client sends an embedded SQL update the client is occasionally disconnected. The Server is on AIX, the clients are Windows95, and the network is TCP/IP.

The commit is presumably successful, as the data is updated on the table. The insert is successful, (we have not had any reports of it failing.)

Any ideas?
