How to tell the last time a table was updated, deleted, inserted?

How can I tell when the last time a table was actually changed by an insert,
update, or delete?  This would not include any DML against the table since
selects are also DML.  I'm trying to save time by not processing a certain
table if it hasn't been changed since the last process.



Any ideas?
