Distributed transactions in Oracle

We are a shop that has run Oracle for a number of years.   We are just starting
on implementing distributed transactions in our environment, which is a mix of
Oracle 7.2.3 and 7.3.3 on NCR machines.



Are there any "gotchas" we should look out for in the distributed environment? 
  Appreciate any experiences you may share.
