Q: How to config a new HP system

Hello,

I am interested in implementing Oracle8 on HP-UX and would like some advice on system configuration. I was hoping there might be a "typical" system design spec that I could use to price some hardware. This is not a large implementaion so we will probably setup the system ourselves, and hire consultants if we get stuck. The database will be used for 3 applications:

1) bioinformatics (5 users)
2) equipment calibration (2 users)
3) scientific instrument results (10 users)

I was thinking D class with one disk for each of the above applications (I will determine the disk space). Or, should I use one disk for data and another for system tablespaces, indexes, etc. Also, is RAID generally implemented on database disks?

Thanks,
