Hmm, there was some trouble with Oracle 7.1.4 being unable to allocate SHM when shmmax WAS NOT the default size. Check it out.

Anyway, does anybody know if this shmmax parameter has any effect on Oracle? Send E-Mail to nikola_at_ev.ns.ac.yu please.
