MS Access should be fine until your largest table have over 100,000 to 200,000 records, or you have more than 10 concurrent users. Access can connect to Btrieve via ODBC (there are also third party drivers that will connect Access to Btrieve. Access has a file-server database architecture. With more users or larger number of records, consider a client-server architecture database engine such as MS SQL Server, IBM DB2, Sybase SQL Anywhere or SQL Server, Oracle Server, or Borland Interbase.
