Question about database backup

Hi all,

        I am using Oracle version 7.2.3 for Solaris. I have to
	backup a 4G raw device using Unix command "dd". The
	question is how can I choose the proper "block size"
	parameter? Also how does it affect the restoration
	"block size" setting?
