DataTools at http://www.datatools.com has a decent backup product called SQL-BackTrack for Oracle. It works on multiple UNIX platforms and was recently released on NT. They also support Sybase and Informix, and will soon be supporting Microsoft SQL-Server.

In general I have been pleased with it’s backup and restore. Backups can be configured disk-to-disk, disk-to-tape, multi-stream, hot, cold, archive, etc., etc. The disk-to-tape option works well but will not handle jukebox tape libraries. If you wish to use a one they have provided a Open Backup Stream Interface (OBSI) that other tape management products can hook into. The OBSI option is supported by Legato, SyncSort, and several other vendors.

And yes, I have done a complete (datafiles, controlfiles, redos, archives, init.ora) restore of a 50g database from a hot backup.
