Should be possible with the new Oracle Type 4 "thin" driver (which consists of java classes installable on the HTTP server.) The product comes in a JDK 1.02 and a JDK 1.1 version. I've tried the latter only. You need the former. The location info was posted on the comp.lang.java.databases group several times--try dejanews to find the URL. Or maybe it's on the www.oracle.com download area by now . . .
