Replication: LONG columns

Anybody have any good ideas on replicating LONG columns?

I was thinking along the lines of some PL/SQL (since none of the LONG columns exceed 32K bytes, that will work). We would use normal replication for the other columns, and just UPDATE the LONG columns.

However, maybe there is a totally different and totally better way that we didn't think about. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
