I've always found that Oracle Support (certainly the European bods, I guess they are still in Bracknell but how would I know these days) are excellent; it's a while since I've had a bad experience with them, and we use a broad spectrum of different products and platforms. The people that really wind me up are the commercial staff; our account guy from Oracle had the cheek today to send me a form letter saying Hi, how are you, do you want to talk, when he knows darn well he is supposed to get back to me urgently on something. I know these mailshots are automated, but it gets my goat. This type of thing has been our experience over the last five years. They want us to move to working through a VAR, but I can't see how this would make things better. But we'll live with it because the products are so good.
