This is just the sort of thinking that will ensure that a certain very large and aggressive software and OS developer will have a monopoly in a few very short years. I can think of far too many superior products that have fallen by the wayside because they couldn't compete with Microsoft's marketing machine. By giving our money to Microsoft now, and buying an inferior product, all we are doing is giving them more money for their saturating marketing campaigns.
