I'd need to know more about the intended usage. Also do you mean Oracle's Application set e.g., Oracle Financials etc or something else.

Also I don't think the ability to use raw partitions (re: other poster) should be a deciding factor.

In general it is going to come down to the horsepower required to support your server. By going to UNIX you have a wide range of H/W options for large systems, your only option for NT would be Dec Alpha and in the case I'd go with the UNIX option anyway.

If you don't need the muscle of a large UNIX server, then an NT solution could provide a significantly cheaper solution. Received on Mon Apr 28 1997 - 00:00:00 CDT
