Stay away from 7.3.2.1, and if available at your site, go with 7.3.3.

Generally we have found performance to be better but be watchful of hash_joins - we have turned them off in some cases since Oracle seems keen to use these where we would have preferred indexes...

You can play with "hash_join_enabled = true/false" in init.ora
