HELP needed to find the reason for system hang up!!!
We use a Pentium-PC 166MHz with 64MB memory and we have SCSI disk
drives installed. We use Oracle V. 7.3.3.1 and we have the following
problem we need to solve.
When we use SQL-Loader and import tables, suddenly the system hangs up
with a clack-clack noise on the harddisk which comes very exactly every
second. When we try to shutdown the database with normal shutdown, the
svrmgr hangs waiting. We have to use another window to start the svrmgr
again and with shutdown abort we succeed. But this is not the normal way
to end. All client processes SQLPLUS or WORKSHEET hang up as well.
Who knows where to start to search? Could it be, that our TCP/IP
connection doesn't work correctly?
Thanks for any help
Yours sincerely
