Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> 2nd instance on 7.2Wgs For NT3.51 not starting automatically
I added a second instance in oracle using the GUI instance manager. It created the services it should have, but it won't start up the database automatically.
It seems I have to go in to a dos-prompt, set the oracle_sid variable to my new sid, then run sql*dba to start up.
What if I want my new instance to start automatically? I would even sacrifice the old instance not to start automatically, but it seems that only the original instance can start automatically.
Also, if I make a .cmd file that kicks off sqldba to start a database, is there a way to have the .cmd file run when NT boots w/o anyone logging in to NT? Received on Sat Mar 01 1997 - 00:00:00 CST
