I don't work for Oracle, but I have read some stuff and here is the skinny as I can determine from all the Marketing crap.

I belive there is a Spatial Data option in 7.3. DataBlades are an
Informix/Illustra concept (very cool stuff by the way!). Oralce is
reportedly working on DataCartridges. I don't believe that the first
releases of 8.0 will include Base Type extension (user defined data
types), or many other data type stuff that it should. (read
'Object-Relational DBMSs' by Micheal Stonebraker with Dorothy Moore- good
book!)
