Actually, the DBMS_SQL package might be a better bet. Specifically, it contains logic that enables PL/SQL to use dynamic SQL. There is a fax-back document that Oracle has that is pretty good. For 7.1 Oracle, the documentation is in the Documenation Addendum book. It has some inaccurate examples, though, so either get the fax document from Oracle or surf over the the White Papers page and see if they have anything on it.
