Instance Start/Stop Hangs after HP/UX 10.01 Patches Applied

I'm working with a client who has just applied many (120+) patches to the 10.01 operating system.

The four instances on this server now take an average of 20 minutes to shutdown (no users are connected when the shutdown normal is issued). Starting these same instances is taking approximately 6-10 minutes.

Database Version : 7.1.6.2 (also happening on a 7.3.x database) Operating System : 10.01 with November Extensions Applied

Neither Oracle nor HP have provided any meaningful insight into this rather peculiar problem.

Any suggestions on this matter would be most appreciated.
