ORA-01003 No statement parsed during export

Periodically, when I do a full database export, I get this error part way through the export :

ORA-1003 No statement parsed.

I posted this a few months ago and begged oracle for help but no one had an answer for me; I just received the same error again and would like to get it resolved.
Has anyone else seen this message? If so, what did you do to fix the problem?

System:
AIX 4.1.4, RS6K, mod 590, with 264 Meg Ram. Oracle Server7.2, (1 instance) approximately 30 tablespaces, each with about 20 small tables, totalling about 1.5 million rows per tablespace. There is no update/delete/insert activity in the database;
