With all respect due - since this discussion occurs several times a month, a modest amount of time reviewing the newsgroup would have indicated that many of the regular participants prefer announcements like yours be made in the (incorrectly named, IMO) group cdo.marketplace.
The apology is not necessarily for incorrectly placing your annoucement. Nor does it have to be very formal. It is more an acknowledgement that you [inadvertently?] missed the wishes of the regulars - those who are in the best position to assist in your request.
And, of course you don't have to apologize. Apologies are just part of the grease that lubricates the wheels of a society that is pretty squeaky at best. (With respects & apologies to R.A. Heinlein for the misquote.) In the same light, nor do the Oracle pros who lurk here need to assist you. But both could have beneficial side effects, don't you think?
