Hello,

I'm looking for expert advice regarding text mining (keyword searches and smart searches (subject/object/verb/synonyms) within large text objects.

Apparently there are a number of products out there like ISYS-Search and Goldfire that can be used to perform indexed searches on very large amounts of data. I am trying to determine whether Oracle's Text functionality is comparable to these packages?

I am also trying to determine whether data should be stored within BLOB or CLOB fields within Oracle or as text files on a file server.
