Depends entirely on what you mean by 'just 9iAS'.

It's a while suite of products and functionality as shown in the overview at http://www.oracle.com/appserver/appserver_family.html

Don't bother with 8i and 9i - there were many opportunities for improvement, and Oracle used some of those opportunities in 10g. (In other words, they were so full of bugs and admin issues that they were nearly useless.)
