  1. 8.1.5 is desupported (as are 8.1.6, 8.1.7 and 9.0.1) and is NOT recommended. If you insist on the 8.1 series, the lowest recommended is 8.1.7
  2. The resources used by 8.1.5 and 9.2 when all options have been deselected are roughly similar.
  3. An excellent install resource for many linux/Oracle combinations is http://www.puschitz.com - Werner has done a lot of work in both doing and documenting the installations and I hesitate to duplicate the effort in a newsgroup. If that doesn't help try again here, but realize that first response will almost always be "don't use 8.1.x"
