Well, I've never had any problems with my laptops, having
installed anything from 7.2 onward, WebDb, OAS/iAS, Portal
and the lot.
But -as mentioned- my 'localhost' is *always* resolved.
And is in my hosts file - whichever OS.
Admittingly, for those type of installations, I always
used localhost, or made sure the name.domain stuff could be
resolved via the hosts file.
I guess most people do not realize that IP-addresses change,
as do domains as soon as they connect to another (local?)
network.
