Don't shoot the newbie.....lol but I can't seem to get Oracle 10g working in
WinXp or know which username/connect identifier to us.
The install itself seems to go smooth. I selected "Personal Edition" and
checked "Use same password for all accounts" - pretty much all I can do
other than set a new name then default names for Glaboal Database Name and
SID.......and I (over an hour later) get Succeeded for all:
- Oracle Net configuration Assistance
But, from the word getgo, I'm given the "IP address of host cannot be
dertermined"
I'm not using it as a server software nor over the internet - just using it
on my PC locally.
I'm not sure if/where I may need to open port 5500 or other ports.
On http://192.168.0.6:5500/em/console I get notice that "The database status is currently unavailable. It is possible that the database is in mount or nomount state. Click 'Startup' ", but when I go to Startup, I'm prompt with "Host Credential sceen" with 2 sections of username/password, but I don't know the username and I only supplied a password. Have been unsuccessful logging in here.
On http://192.168.0.6:5562/isqlplus/ (not even sure if port 5562 is open and I have Win service pak 2).... or if I go to it thru the menus, I'm again prompt for a username, password and a connect identifier???? Again, can't log on there. Not sure what username to use, nor the connect identifier....AND I've tried using sysdba or sysoper as username and the password that I had give as the "SAME" passwd for all accounts...
And, I don't know a thing about the listener or even if it's running or how
I'm supposed to know if it is.....
Thanks
