MS Access as a database is a file based "database" that has very little possibility of recovery and backup. You can't back it up while people are using it. It is prone to data corruption, but you won't know when that happens. Access is not ACID. Oracle is an industrial strength database.

Part of the problem is that if management doesn't know the difference then be scared very scared and get a different job. It is unlikely that they have the expertise to figure out what they want. Jim Received on Wed Sep 22 2004 - 00:00:46 CDT
