So Daniel,

What do we do... I reply you disagree I reply you disagree... and on and on and on.

Let's answer your last question first, there is no license to spam _anywhere_ , i.e. newsgroups, email, etc.

Now to your first question...I find a lot of your comments filled with pointless nonsense. You seem to supply a lot of policy and procedure, but no innovation, no bright and shining bits of wisdom, just pointless banter. The reality is that unless you can come to terms with how open source and open systems work, you will continue to be at odds with the message and how it is delivered. You've castigated the messenger and author of a very innovative tool that costs the rest of us NOTHING, completely missing the point of it all.

You incorrectly defined his message as spam, when in reality, spam is actually quite a different animal. Spam typically has no offer of anything from the open source community, much less anything that costs money, simply because the authors and messengers are typically anti-spam, knowing they will be held to account for their sins in the very community they wish to serve. Real spammers on the other hand typically offer "something for nothing", and usually try their best to hide their tracks, and usually the offer is in reality low quality. Spam and scam go together, completely different than posting open source messages. You should also note that most of the spam here in newsgroups is usually done by amateurs and wreckless types, again outside the norm in the open source community.

I hope that you will cease your endless crusade on this thread and let it die. It's actually created more traffic than the original post, with most of the thread being pointless banter.

Assuming for a moment you are completely right about everything you've said up to now, did anyone else get it like you did? No.
