Follow DJ's advice and anytime you post here with a problem provide the full error message text and number (not just your interpretation of it). And what you tried to do specifically that caused the problem. Perhaps you used the wrong user id and password, perhaps you don't have the Oracle services running, perhaps you didn't set up the correct environment variables, perhaps you don't have a valid tnsnames.ora?

We can't tell without far more information in your posts.
