Good morning!

I originally wanted to simply install an ODBC Driver on a Windows 2000 machine. I was going to http://technet.oracle.com/, and after confirming, that i am not a terrorist and i also don't plan to build chemical or biological weapons with my ODBC Client, i was finally able to download a 1.4 MB sized file.

I happily extracted the EXE file into my TEMP dir, and searched for a setup.exe. As you can imagine, that would be too simple. So I decidet to read the readme. And it said, that I need the Oracle Universal Installer. No problem! I was going another times to http://technet.oracle.com/, and i was searching for an Oracle Universal Installer. One hour later, I was reading in google groups, that i have to install the Oracle 9i Client, which comes with the OUI, and after that I can install my ODBC driver.

Please could anyone confirm, that I have to download _180 MB_ for a software packet, which I don't need, to install my ODBC driver?

best regards
