Actually you know no such thing. What you know is that from time-to-time Oracle 8i will install and run under XP Home.

You have no information indicating that it is stable or that what happens sometimes is repeatable.

There is a very big difference.

Rather than trying to force a square peg into a round hole ... why not get 9i and run it, as recommended by Oracle, under XP Pro? A strong desire to turns something simple into a painful experience?
