I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with Sybrand (hope that's your first name - apologies if not) on this one. 8i is simply not supported on XP Home. It's possible that some idividuals have made a successful installation on their particular setup. I would consider the statement of 'not supported' to simply mean 'will not run on XP HOME'. If you have a particular setup and it happens to work then lucky you.
I have XP Pro installed at home. There are a number of games from a coupl eof years ago I would love to have installed but as they do not mention XP on the box (often only because of timing) I simply dare not chance them. Exactly the same scenario.
I don;t think it's too likely you will get a satisfactory answer to your question because it is somethign that few other people would have encountered and even fewer would have bothered to solve, simply because it's not supposed to be done. Received on Fri Aug 29 2003 - 03:51:02 CDT
