Bingo! That's why generalized statements like some posters are prone to make are easy to kick back down. There are always issues at sites that need to be addressed. The reality is that business is what makes the world spin, not technology. Whether we (as technologist) like this or not, that's the way it is.

What I'm thinking is that Oracle Engineering redo the whole EXPLAIN PLAN method such that a perm temp table isn't needed. End of problem.

But then what would we bicker about? <G>
