My first experience was on a pdp-8i with 32K of RAM which was shared between
5 users. We did have a 1 meg Winchester drive. If the power went off then
we had to punch in 12 pairs of binary numbers (instructions and the address)
which was the program to read the High speed paper tape to load the OS.
Ahh, those were the days.
