You can copy all the files from the original database create a trace file
from the controlfiles and past the files in the new database directory,
rename the directory paths in the trace file and rename the trace file to
.sql run it and run the alter database resetlogs command and you should be
fine. This method has worked for me if you need more of a step by step and
want to do this method let me know....many in this group helped me do this,
in this manner and it appears to be working fine so far.
