'decent' is subjective. :) I was able to do my port (see http://www.hpdbe.com/products/shim.html) and run regressions on the app. The final testing involved running across all four instances. It wasn't all that bad.

Correction, I ran four x 8i with no problems. The databases were pretty small so my assumption is that Linux only paged what was necessary of the shared memory segment to allow all four to run. I would assume the same with 9i. I guess I could try four of 9i but I'm heading out on vacation in a bit. :)
But this is one of those situations where I think it's easier for the person to simply set them up and run them. It's not all that hard to setup four instances.
