java - Oracle9iAS toplink - oracle thin driver - oracle 8.1.7 - Blob

Hello,
Sorry for my poor english, i am french.
I try to read, insert and modify a BLOB column whithin an oracle table. If the type in the java class is Blob, i can read and modify but i can't insert. If the type is byte Array, i just can read the Blob. In toplink i do a direct to field mapping.
What is the type i must declare in the java class ? what is the type of mapping should i use in toplink ?
Any help will be appreciate.
